Permits
When Permits are Required
The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) determines when a permit is required. In simple terms, a permit is required when ever a structure or any of it's regulated systems are built, assembled, altered, or removed or demolished. There are some exceptions to this that are listed in the USBC.
