INVITATION TO BID

The County of Northampton will accept sealed bids for Petroleum Products from registered ultimate vendors for the twelve-month period July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018. Bids will be received until 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017.

Any comments or questions concerning the specifications or provisions of this INVITATION TO BID should be directed to the County Administrator’s Office, P. O. Box 66, Eastville, Virginia 23347, telephone: 757/678-0440 ext. 516.

The County has the right to reject any or all bids; to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding; accept or reject any or all items of the bid; and to accept other than the lowest bid should it be deemed in the best interest of the County.

EMS GARAGE
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The County of Northampton, Virginia is accepting sealed Bids for the construction of a new Emergency Medical Services Garage building to be located at 13294 Lankford Highway, Machipongo, Virginia. Bids will be received at the office of the County Administrator, 16404 Courthouse, Eastville, VA 23347 until 3:00 p.m., June 8, 2017. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter.

The successful vendor will be responsible for the design, permitting, and construction of a new approximately 2,400 (40’x60’) pre-engineered metal building, with an option for a 40’x80’ building.

Contractors can obtain copies of the complete bid specifications from the Public Works Director’s Office at Post Office Box 66, Eastville, Virginia 23347, (757) 678-0414, or cthomas@co.northampton.va.us.

A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held at the Northampton County Department of EMS, 13294 Lankford Highway, Machipongo, Virginia 23405, at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Attendance shall be optional for those submitting a bid.

The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding.

No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the County. The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be according to Section 11 54 (I) of the Code of Virginia.

The contract is to be awarded on the basis of the lowest responsive and responsible bid.

Bidders must be licensed contractors, Class A, in the Commonwealth of Virginia in accordance with the requirements of Title 54, Chapter 7, of the Code of Virginia. The successful bidder must also possess and maintain throughout the duration of construction Worker’s Compensation and Commercial General Liability insurance coverages.

All bidders are subject to and must comply with the provisions of the County's Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and applicable State and Federal anti-discrimination laws.
