County of Northampton

WILLIS WHARF HARBOR BOAT DOCK

The County of Northampton, Virginia is accepting sealed Bids for the installation of a new floating dock located at the Willis Wharf Harbor in Willis Wharf, VA to serve rental boat slips. The bid will also include an add alternate for the installation of a kayak dock. Bids will be received at the office of the County Administrator, 16404 Courthouse Road, PO Box 66, Eastville, VA 23347 until 3:00 PM, December 19, 2019. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately thereafter.

The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding.

Please accept this memorandum as Addendum #1 to the above-noted Request for Proposals.


CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1. QUESTION: The gangway(3x 24 Ft ) planned at this site , do you need to meet ADA requirements of wheel chair grab rail at 34" elevation and an ADA Wheel Chair Guard toe Plate.

ANSWER: The gangway features shall be ADA compliant.

2. QUESTION: Being that the Float is only 6 Ft wide / do you plane to place the (4) 12 : Diameter anchorage piles external of the dock frame to maintain a full walkway passage the full 90 Ft span / or plan to place them within the 6 ft dock width frame creating areas only 4 Ft wide around the pile location.

ANSWER: The anchorage piles shall be external of the dock frame so that a full 6’ walkway is maintained throughout the entire 90’ length.
