Cape Charles- Cape Charles Main Street invites artists and art enthusiasts to participate in LOVE IS IN THE AIR - a juried Plein Air event that’s part of the Summer of Love series celebrating 50 years of Virginia is For Lovers. Spanning 3 days from Aug 15 to August 17, 2019 this event culminates in an Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony hosted by Hotel Cape Charles on Saturday, August 17,  2019 at 6 p.m.

Offering unique vistas including marshes, docks, beaches, wildlife, flora, historic buildings and community life, LOVE IS IN THE AIR beckons water color, acrylic, oil and other artists to capture the essence of Cape Charles, the gem on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Reflecting the eclectic character of Cape Charles, we invite both traditional and non-traditional artists to express the bucolic and the bold of our seaside oasis. Bob Bilicki, fellow artist and owner of Current Reflections Gallery in Wachapreague, VA, will jury this show. LOVE IS IN THE AIR will feature both local artists and those traveling to Cape Charles to experience its special charm. For those artists willing to travel, several Cape Charles residents are offering lodging free of charge.
