About ESTACI

The purpose of Eastern Shore Training And Consulting, Inc. (ESTACI) is to reduce the numbers of families involved in the criminal justice and child welfare systems through preventive, peer counseling and treatment approaches to substance use and addictions.

Making Poverty Visible is a project of Eastern Shore Training and Consulting, Inc. (ESTACI), a non-profit organization committed to alleviating or eliminating poverty on the Eastern Shore of Virginia through grassroots social and economic projects. This project is dedicated to pursuing these goals by using the power of storytelling to build personal relationships, strengthening and unifying the local community as a result. By sponsoring a series of Community Conversations as well as hosting free biweekly Discussion Seminars on various topics of concern to the community such as substance abuse, diversity, parenting, and poverty, ESTACI hopes to raise stronger connections among community members that will produce a context of shared trust, safety, and deep listening, while advancing a universal conversation about economic and social justice. We tell our stories to grow relationships that go beyond class, race, gender, age, ability, faith tradition, and sexual identity. By bringing the community together and providing a platform for open and constructive discussion, ESTACI hopes to continue the essential work of relationship building and the renewal of community outside of current individual, cultural, and organizational models.
