JOIN US for a thought-provoking afternoon with back-to-back events hosted by the Woodson Center and the CCRSRI.

Learn more about the historic Washington-Rosenwald legacy and the modern day Rosenwald Schools movement that is uniting communities for positive change today.

Our President, Tevya Griffin, will join the panel discussion and the film prominently features the Historic Cape Charles Elementary, a Rosenwald School, and its alumni.

Both events are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Join us for a Free Screening Join the CCRSRI for a FREE screening of 'Monuments with Blackboards', a documentary film by Longleaf Productions, exploring the history of Rosenwald Schools in Virginia and prominently featuring our beloved Historic Cape Charles Elementary and its alumni. This film reveals the profound impact that the Rosenwald School program had on generations of Black Virginians and highlights the efforts to ensure that the gains of the Washington-Rosenwald legacy live on through the movement to preserve the buildings that remain. Admission is free - No tickets required.
