Nadia Perokovic is a European visual artist invited by Films that Move (formerly known as Experimental Film Virginia). As part of the 2019 artist residency and filmmaking intensive, Nadia was commissioned to make a mural, inspired by the town of Cape Charles and the thriving art scene at the Historic Palace Theatre. Her work often expresses a return to nature, with a utopian vibe which is especially demonstrated by her delightful and imaginative “LOVE” themed mural, now displayed outside the Palace Theatre on Strawberry Street in Cape Charles. It is part of the Virginia Love Sign campaign and a continued effort by Global Exchange Arts Roundtable (Gear), a Virginia 501c3, to integrate art and tourism into a functional driving force to sustain local economy and honor local history and culture.
